Saira was the resident of Marzi Poora area District Khanewal. She was engaged from last two years. Saira's father was also a heart patient and regularly taking medicine for that as well. Before diagnosed with TB she was living with her family in a joint family system. She was living a healthy life but soon after her TB was diagnosed the scenario of her life changed completely. The relationships changed and so did their behaviors. She became a dejected figure at home and out side as well. However, among all these odd behaviors her only ray of hope was her fiance - who stood steadfast with her. Saira had cough since long and she contacted many private doctors but they were unable to diagnose the disease. The prescriptions of these doctors proved ineffective as she didn't get any relief. Saira's fiancé was working as local out reach worker in PLYC in Pakistan Safe Drinking water& Hygiene Promotion Project. He was shifted from that project in TB DOTS implemented by PLYC. After he got training, he asked the project coordinator that he want to check her fiancé as he is suspected that she might carry TB. Upon checkup, her TB was diagnosed. Saira ensurd her complete 8 month medication and now, she is a healthy member of society. Saira in laws behavior was very rude to her when she was diagnosed with TB, but now they again respect her as she is the earning hand in family as well. Saira got married last month with her fiancé and now days both are enjoying a healthy life
