In the mean while I got chance to attend the Global hand washing day in Government Girls Hasan Model School Kanewal .I was impressed by the information of Hygiene promotion project, 2nd time I was astonished to know that teachers and students of that school had collected the funds to install a mini filtration plant in the school."
An estimated 250,000 child deaths occur each year in Pakistan due to water-borne disease. Diarrhea is also water born disease, and deaths ratio of children under 5 year age is highest figure in Pakistan. Death rates in school due to unhygienic conditions and unsafe drinking water is also in the big ratio.
As I monitored the trainings conducted by Pakistan lions Youth Council partner of PSDW/SHP and some special events like global Hand washing day and I was really impressed by that project .I intended to replicate this project in other Government schools.
I am heartedly thankful to USAID and project team for saving the precious lives of children through this project in Khanewal District
I was succeeded to conduct meeting with District Coordination officer (DCO) and motivating him to allocate funds for installation of mini plants in other Government schools in Khanewal District
District Coordination officer allocated 20 million Pak rupees for installation of Mini plants in Government schools in Khanewal.
Education Department has been installed mini filtration plants in 19 government schools and the process is going on and mini plants will be installed in1500 government schools Insha Allah. Through these filtration plants about 1500000 teachers homes. All their family members are indirect beneficiaries of this project.
As I am working as Executive district officer Education so I want that all my students should drink clean and safe water and by God's grace I am very happy that I am getting my desires and students will drink water and will surely be helpful to achieve the project targets and these students will also disseminate the message of safe drinking water in their

That" I was very much worried about the children who are drinking water from hand pumps and some of them from the taps, despite that many children in remote and backward areas were drinking water from the open ponds which were very dangerous to health especially caused the diarrhea among the children. Many times I had to drink water from those points, during my visits in the schools I came to know that many students were absent due to the diarrhea disease. I was very much upset for hearing their illness.
